Migraine
A migraine is a neurological disorder from which approximately 10% of the human population suffer. A migraine, which occurs in women approximately three times more often than in men, has an allotropic clinical picture. Typically in adults, this is distinguished by a periodically recurring, seizure-like, pulsating headache on one side of the head, which is accompanied by additional symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity (photophobia) or noise sensitivity (phonophobia). In some patients a migraine aura precedes a migraine attack during which visual or sensitive perception disorders frequently occur but also motor disorders are possible. The diagnosis is usually conducted with the help of an anamnesis.
We have good experiences with the treatment of migraines using acupuncture. For this purpose, we carry out a combination of body and ear acupuncture. At least 4-6 30-minute sessions are required. The treatment is painless. The patients are lying down during this time and they can relax. The sessions should take place twice a week if possible.
